5 Ways to Improve Your Productivity and Get More Done
Focus on being productive instead of busy.
Hey Project Pusher! ๐
I hope this email finds you well and that you are having a great start to your week!
I wanted to touch base with you about PRODUCTIVITY and share some tips that have been working well for me.
A few months ago, I struggled with motivation and had so many projects that were in limbo.
My to-do list just kept getting longer and deadlines were being missed left and right.
I felt overwhelmed and upset that I was not hitting my goals.
So I reviewed Getting Things Done by David Allen and started attending Twitter Spaces focused on productivity. Over the last few months, I learned a lot and wanted to give you the cliffs.
Here are the top 5 productivity methods that have helped me stay motivated and get more projects done:
Coworking - Collaborating with others on tasks can help you stay accountable and on track. You can use platforms like Google Meets, Zoom, or Whatsapp to set up a virtual coworking space with a friend.
Pomodoro technique - Using small time intervals (~25-30 minutes) with planned breaks (~5-10 minutes) in between is an effective strategy. This method helps with concentration and time management.
Forest app - Focusing for longer periods of time and minimizing distractions through visual reinforcement (planting a beautiful โforestโ) is how this app works. (screenshots below)
Binaural beats - Listening to these frequencies can increase your creativity and cognitive ability.
Accountability partners - Working with other people to stay motivated in completing your goals can be useful. Tell them what you are working on and when you want to have it done. Meet with your accountability partners regularly and share progress.
Here are some screenshots from the Forest app (each tree represents 30 minutes of focused deep work time):
There is also an app called Focusmate which may be worth looking into if youโre interested in pairing with other remote workers around the world for 50-minute blocks of focused, quiet work time.
These methods have been a game-changer for me. Try them out and see what works for you! ๐
Also, last weekend I was part of a Twitter Space that was extremely valuable for anyone building an online business. I would highly recommend you listen to and bookmark this Twitter Space.
We talked about:
Building a successful brand online
Project management for creators
Email marketing and newsletters
Twitter growth and marketing strategies
Business planning and customer journey design
There are so many opportunities available.
So take ACTION on this information and keep pushing your projects to completion!
Your friend,
Delles
P.S. My ebook is coming soon. I promise!
I am reading over the entire manuscript and the next stage is sending my finalized draft to a beta reader. I made a deal with an accountability partner to have the finalized draft sent by THIS FRIDAY, April 14th at 11:59 PM CST.
THANK YOU for your patience. Talk soon.
